Ever since Elio fucking emancipated, his apartment is where Verity tends to come to after school. It's prime studying territory without the rigidity of the library or the shared space of the Children's Home. It's nearly impossible to do anything there because there are always so many other kids around, and when she has homework it's difficult to focus with the noise or her earbuds in.

Plus, she just likes Elio.

He's one of the few friends she's made in this place. She hadn't counted on getting attached to anyone, but without her family and the loneliness that goes along with it, she isn't actually sure what she'd do without him. She feels as comfortable with him as she would with her brothers back home.

But, recently something's been on her mind. She's been putting off asking him about it, but knows the longer she puts it off the weirder it will get if she brings it up. And she's kind of dying to bring it up. So much so that the Calc she's pushing through has gone untouched for the past fifteen minutes. She taps her pencil against the paper, shifting in her chair at the tiny dining room table, and finally gives up with a stretch and a groan.

"Elio," she calls as she gets up from the table, moving to his couch and flopping down against the pillows. "Come hang out with me!"
